Matthew T. Douglas graduated from the College of Charleston in 2003 with a degree in Media Communications. He received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in May of 2007, where he graduated cum laude. While in law school, Mr. Douglas received CALI awards for academic excellence in Property, Administrative Law, and Criminal Procedure. He was also a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe and the ABA Real Property, Probate and Trust Journal. Mr. Douglas is admitted to practice law in the State of South Carolina and the United States District Court. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, Charleston County Bar and the South Carolina Association for Justice. Mr. Douglas is also a member of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division where he participates in various community outreach programs including the Special Olympics and the YLD Children's Book Drive. Before joining Knight Law Firm, LLC , Mr. Douglas worked as a judicial law clerk for the Workers' Compensation Commission and practiced law at a large insurance defense firm which provided him with perspective regarding some of our common adversaries. Mr. Douglas's primary area of practice is in general civil litigation in both State and Federal Courts. When not in the courtroom Mr. Douglas enjoys spending time with his family and watching the occasional RiverDogs game at Joe Riley Park. |
