William E. McIntosh is a life-long resident of Summerville, where he graduated from Summerville High School in 1984.   He earned a Bachelor of Art degree in Political Science from Clemson University and a Master of Public Administration degree from the College of Charleston.  He received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. 

While in law school, Mr. McIntosh was a member of the Order of Wig and Robe and a member of the Student Editorial Board of the ABA Real Property, Probate & Trust Journal.  After law school, he returned to Summerville where he has worked as a state prosecutor and in private practice. 

Mr. McIntosh has been admitted to practice before the South Carolina Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.  He practices primarily in the areas of general civil litigation, including personal injury, commercial litigation, real estate and construction litigation.  He is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the Dorchester County Bar Association.

Mr. McIntosh serves as an elected Town Councilman for the Town of Summerville and as a Trustee of Pinewood Preparatory School. He previously served as a Director of the Summerville-Dorchester Museum. He and his family attend Summerville Presbyterian Church.
